Deletion of Product Hierarchy is not possible without archiving the data

Hi All,

we are  tried to execute the program COM_HIERARCHY_DELETE_SINGLE in Production system,

facing  error  " Deletion of Product Hierarchy is not possible without archiving the data" ,

as we observed there is a authority check in report for not executing in production ,

is it Ok to modify standard report for removing authority check as mentioned in

http://scn.sap.com/thread/1449938 .

Please suggest what is the best way to proceed on this.
